Blessed are the Peacemakers: Craft

May 12, 2010 by Maureen Spell 3 Comments

This week we worked on the verse for letter B in My ABC Verses by Susan Hunt.

“Blessed are the peacemakers for they shall be called sons of God.” Matthew 5:9

First we sang the verse to the tune of “London Bridges”

Blessed are the peacemakers
for they
shall be called
sons {really draw out the word “sons”} of God
Matthew 5 verse 9

Craft:

Supplies:
1 paper plate
paint
glue
printable

We decided to paint our paper plates yellow because it reminded us that God is happy when we are peacemakers. You could paint your plate any color you want. You might even paint it to look like the earth.

Blessed Are the Peacemakers

Next print out the patterns onto cardstock. You can use different colors or you could print it out on white and have your children decorate each of the people.

Glue all the pieces down. I told my daughter to only put glue on the feet and legs of the people. Place the people around the paper plate in the proper order. You can poke a hole and add string to hang up in the room. Or you can just use sticky tac and place it on a wall like I did. Practice singing the song again while pointing to the words.

Additional Activities:
There is a cute peacemaker coloring page at Danielle’s Place plus lessons on the Beattitudes.
