Spell Outloud has nothing to do with spelling and everything to do with learning. Usually I share what my kids are learning. But I’ve been learning things too. I thought about saying each week I’ll post “Wellness Wednesdays” and share tips and resources that I’m using to help my family. But I can’t roll like that. What if one Wed. I want to talk about birds or have a cool art project to share? So instead, each week I’ll be sharing “Whatever I Want Wednesday.” Oh wait, that’s not so different than what I already do. 😉 All kidding aside, I’ll occasionally be sharing things I’ve been studying about and learning. I’ve been intentionally stretching myself to set aside personal learning time–not related to homeschool stuff. I had let that slide, thinking I just didn’t have the time to do that– but have found that I need that challenge and brain stimulation of learning new things! 🙂 It has also been good for my kids to see me studying and learning on my own too.

essential_oils_joy

One topic I have been studying is essential oils. I have begun a new journey on my road to wellness- using and learning about essential oils. In order to help me keep everything straight and in one place, I set up an essential oils notebook.

Essential_oils_binder

I can print out various “recipes” and other information and file it in my notebook.

essential_oils_binder2

I even created several custom check-lists to help keep me organized.

Essentialoils_binder

Now instead of writing down tips and information on random pieces of paper– or thinking that I’m going to remember what I learned, I can write it down and compile it all in one place for future reference.

Thirty-One Bag

I store my notebook and other essential oil books and reference materials in my Thirty-One organizer bag. This organizational system makes me happy. 🙂 You can download these printables too.

I’ve been using EOs for a while now and some my family can’t live without– particularly a blend of eucalyptus, lavender, peppermint and TTO for colds/congestion. My question is… is it ok to diffuse them every night? I know continuous exposure to some EOs can be bad (liver damage, but don’t remember which EO).

I’m not a doctor so what I say should not be considered medical advice…

It is recommended to diffuse oils for 15min. every hour instead of just letting the diffuser run until empty. Oils are more effective in smaller doses — but they won’t hurt you diffused all night. They are just potent so you don’t have to diffuse all night. You would have to research a little more on daily exposure. I’ve read conflicting reports. I diffuse when needed. Sometimes it is the same eo for several days.
