We have begun our summer routine! Well, kind of. I’m still working on our exact routine–since I’m more a wing-it person. My goal is to have a couple academic things in the morning along with chore school :). Then spend the rest of the day outside, going on field trips, exploring and enjoying summer!
1. We are doing some academic work this summer. My 6yr. old is working through (ad) All About Reading Level 1. Her reading confidence has improved so much within the last semester that I don’t want her to loose momentum. She is also participating in our library reading program.
2 -3. Since it has been nice out, I am encouraging the kids to be outside! Our swings are getting used (need to buy another one so all three can swing.) We also added a bunch of sand in our 8ft. x 8 ft. sandbox! That is another hit of summer. Yes, they drag sand in the house, but this life-size sensory box keeps them entertained for hours! I love listening in on their conversations as they use their imaginations to build forts, castles, roads and more.
4. We will also be spending time at the pool. My 6 yr. old and 4yr. old will be taking swim lessons this year. They love being in the water!
